Comic Con Brussels

Image
Hi we’re back, it’s been a busy couple of months since last we spoke the Geek Explorers have been actually getting out and doing some geeky exploring. We visited Brussels for delicious Belgium Fries, Mussels, Chocolate and of course Comic Con Brussels. So far theres three videos for Brussels up with a couple more on the way. Brussels is a supercool city if your a geek, we visited the Comic Art Museum, did the Comic Street Art walking tour, went to a pile of comic book stores, had drinks in a steam punk bar and went to a museum for popular characters from comics and video games. Most recently we visited MCM Birmingham and created what I think is our best video yet, you can see that below. The rest of the Brussels Vlogs will be coming soon and the next Convention in the calendar is MCM London at the end of May. See you soon Explorers!

Geek Explorers 2019

How’s it going Explorers! 2019 is well underway and my adventures are in full swing. Today is a simple update of where I’m at, if you would like something more substantial to scratch that Geek itch then check out my book Convention Adventures available on Am azon now  I’d love to say on January 1st I exploded out of my front door, charged down the street and rocketed off around the world to begin my adventures. Rather than a raging explosion it was more a soft burp followed by me limply lying motionless on the floor. 2019 was under way and already I was falling behind, left scrambling in the dust I began plotting my route back to the front of the life race.  A conversation about fate, chance and living in the moment led me to book my first excursion, a trip to Southampton. In mid January I took a coach down to Southampton for a weekend to see what the city had to offer this Geek Explorer. A lot, in fact, was on offer for a hungry devourer of Pop Culture. A delicious ...

Geek Explorers The Beginning

Hello there Explorers! The book promotion train is thundering onwards, click here  to see my book. I have now made my YouTube debut opening the door for the world to hurl abuse and mean comments my way. Here is my first video. Although this is my first published video I’ve attempted to make a first video a bunch of times. Hence the reason there’s a bunch of bits of other videos cut into this. As has been pointed out by all my friends I am not at my most natural when sat on the sofa trying to talk to the camera. I’m hoping this will improve as I make more videos, rather than sit looking sad/angry scowling at the camera. I don’t intend to shoot many at home vlogs, I was just keen to complete a video and get it online. My plan is make travel vlogs of my various adventures, mostly Conventions or Geeky places I visit. I’m hoping the more videos I make the better they will become. I’ve shot a bunch of footage from my recent trip to Wales Comic Con and hope to have this online ...

How’s it going Explorers!

I have written a book called  Convention Adventures : Geeks going to Comic Cons. It is available on Amazon this is how it came to be. Here is the cover of Convention Advenutres Where does this start? Here? No not here! Come with me explorer, tumbling back in time we shall head together, spiralling through the corridors of time.  Thud! We are all the way back in 2016, carful now we must not disturb anything, being a Geek I am sure you are aware anything we may change here might mess the future right up.  In the final third of 2016 I began trying to write a book, initially a guide book for Comic Cons. It was becoming very common to hear other attendees complain that its to hard or expensive to go to Cons outside of their home city. I decided I would try to help them out and set about creating a book. Early on it was clear that a straight up guide book just wasn’t interesting. To address this I added in tales from Cons I had attended to act as practic...

Stan Lee

Image
I didn’t know Stan Lee but he has been a part of my life since childhood. He has had a massive influence on who I am, my passions, aspirations, values, inspiration and just about every aspect of my life. He introduced me the the cartoons I loved, characters I’ve followed and comics that are still a big part of my life. Without Stan Lee there would have been no Marvel Comics, Transformers, Power Pack, Marvel UK, Wolverine, Zoids, Thunder Cats, MCU or X-Men. All of these have been with me since I was a child, they were the main comics in my life and still are. They led me to art, animation and film making. I’m sorry we never met, you will never be forgotten, thank you! My first ongoing US Comic Collection started here. My first Comics collection started with this issue.
